It’s been a year in the planning and the day has finally arrived!! 24 of us from VSP are heading to Nicaragua to build homes with Habitat for Humanity!! 😀
When I started recruiting last December I was hoping I could recruit 12-16 individuals from our Optics Group to join. With the help of our fearless leader Don we generated buzz throughout our division and got a team of 24!
This will be my 3rd year in a row heading down, however this year will be extra special going with wonderful folks I work with everyday. They are so excited and passionate about the cause, and are ready to make a difference to a community in dire need.
Another successful and emotional dedication for The Ross Family of Sacramento who got the keys to their home today!
This is the best part of being associated with Habitat for Humanity, to see a family hold keys to a home they own, something they never thought they could do before joining our program. This was the 124th home in Sacramento for H4H!
The Ross family are high-school sweethearts who got married 3 years ago, and have beautiful twin boys. They never dreamed of owning their own home, but today they are proud homeowners in the best community in Sac!
There are only 2 homes left to build and occupy in this very special Indian Lane community Habitat has built in south Sacramento. Next dedication (a double for the last 2 homes!) will be in September. Come out and celebrate the completion of this very special community development!

Another very special day as 2 more Sacramento Habitat for Humanity homes are complete and the keys were given over to the families!
The Indian Lane development project is on its home stretch, and this marked the 112th & 113th homes Sac H4H have completed for our community!
This is why we volunteer, to see others live the American dream of home ownership. And so proud that the company I work for, VSP, was not only a sponsor of these homes but sent over 100 employees to help build these homes!
Congrats to the Nolasco & Gavrilyuk-Prus families!!
